We are writing to update you on the recent incident caused by the CrowdStrike software, which caused numerous computers worldwide to experience repeated Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) events.
Our Technology Services team has been working diligently to resolve the issue, and we are pleased to report the vast majority of SCU computers have been restored to normal operations.
If you are still experiencing any issues, please contact the Service Desk.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all SCU staff for your patience and understanding during this challenging period. Your supportive and kind response was greatly appreciated.
Given the technology issues experienced since the outage began, the University is granting an extension for all assignments that were originally due between 3:00pm Friday July 19 and 11:59 PM Monday July 22.
The new deadline for these assignments is now Wednesday, July 24 (11.59pm). This extension will automatically apply to all students. Students will not be required to submit a special consideration request or contact their Unit Assessor for an extension.

Important Message
SCU is being impacted by the global issue effecting many organisations that you may have seen on the news.
We have been able to restore many services and are working to bring others back on line where possible.
We are in constant contact with the IT supplier concerned who is working urgently to provide a fix. Once available, we anticipate it will take considerable time to apply this and restore remaining impacted services, however we will do so as quickly as possible.
